Pricing questions
What is the platform fee?+
A small percentage of each storefront sale, charged automatically through Stripe when the customer pays. It's how the lower plans stay cheap; Scale removes it entirely. Stripe's own card-processing fee applies on every plan, exactly as it would on any Stripe checkout.
Do I need a card to start?+
No. Your store goes live the moment you sign up and stays free for 30 days — no card needed. Add a card before day 30 to keep it running; your first charge lands on day 30 no matter when you add it, so you never lose free days.
How does annual billing work?+
Annual plans are priced at ten months, so you get two months free. Your 30-day free trial runs first, before any annual charge.
Can I change plans later?+
Any time. Upgrades take effect immediately and are pro-rated; downgrades apply at your next renewal.
What counts as a product?+
A listing in your store. Sizes and colour options inside a listing don't count separately.
Are there any other costs?+
Only what you'd pay anyway: Stripe's processing fee on each sale, and carrier postage when you buy a shipping label. A custom domain is included, but you register the domain itself with your registrar.
